Coffee & Theology Oct. 7th: The Anglican Communion

On Wednesday, October 7, from 7-8:30 p.m., we’ll gather on Zoom for conversation about the Anglican Communion. The format consists of a thirty minute presentation by Fr. Tim (rector of St. Andrew’s), followed by an hour of conversation, discussion, and Q&A.

We’ll explore questions like: What is the Anglican Communion? How did it come about? What does it do? How does it impact us Episcopalians? Who is the Archbishop of Canterbury, and why is he important? What are the benefits and challenges of being a part of the Anglican Communion? Campfire Communion Wednesdays @ 7:30pm

We’re joining our Lutheran siblings for a brief, physically distanced service of Holy Communion on Wednesday nights around a fire (weather permitting). We gather on the lawn of Hope Lutheran Church (4201 Guilford Drive, behind Terrapin Row) for a short service and then folks can hang out after to enjoy the fire. Masks are mandatory and you must RSVP to attend. Learn more and sign up here: go.umd.edu/campfire

Evening Prayer & Conversation Mondays 7-8pm

Join students for a time to pause, connect, pray, and reflect together each week. We talk and have fellowship for about half an hour before moving into Evening Prayer. We take time during the service to reflect on the reading of the day in a conversational style discussion. We meet most Mondays of the semester on Zoom.

Good luck on exams!

Good luck on your exams, papers, and everything else that the end of the semester brings! Chaplain Kristen is keeping all UMD students (and faculty!) in prayer this final week.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our Exam Blessings outside the Stamp! We gave away almost 100 “Breathe” buttons. And congratulations to Tim and Jen, who won the drawing for Starbucks gift cards!
